CDE: They charge a woman who would have tried to kill her 10-month-old son

Prosecutor Vivian Coronel, from the Specialized Unit for punishable acts against children and adolescents, filed charges against a woman who would have tried to strangle her 10-month-old son.

The accused is being held at the headquarters of the women’s police station number 25, at the disposal of the Court of Guarantees.

According to background information, the incident occurred on September 15, on a public road in the San Agustín neighborhood of Ciudad del Este. On the occasion, the woman would have grabbed her youngest son by the neck and presumably tried to strangle him.

However, the boy’s father quickly intervened, who prevented the alleged aggressor from committing the crime. The man then filed a complaint with the police.

Prosecutor Vivian Coronel ordered that the baby be inspected by a forensic doctor who found various injuries to the neck and face, which would be compatible with the story provided by the complainant and by a neighbor, an eyewitness to the event.

Given what happened, the representative of the Public Ministry first ordered the preventive detention of the alleged person responsible for the attempted murder, who was deprived of liberty on September 20 in the downtown area of the capital of Alto Paraná.

Finally, the prosecutor resolved the accusation of the suspect and required her preventive detention, taking into account the seriousness of the act allegedly committed.
