The municipality of Ciudad del Este awarded a total value of G. 6,251 million to the call for tender number 405219 called “School lunch provision service in the form of food offered by the served plate service” (Catering exercise 2022). For this tender, offers began to be received on Thursday, January 27, 2022.
In the tender that is within the category; “Ceremonial, Gastronomic and Funeral Services” three companies were benefited. The procedure implemented to carry out the call for bids was National Public Bidding.
BENEFITED OFFERS
Three companies turned out to be suppliers to the call for tender, which were the same to present themselves to the call.
The first company belongs to María de Fátima Sartorio Vanni, who received a contract worth G. 2,981 million with a participation of 47.69% of the total awarded.
The second is the signing of Teófilo Amarilla Silvero and José Augusto Rodríguez Goncalves. It received a contract for G. 2,270 million with a participation of 36.31% of the total awarded.
The third and last company is that of Isabel Petrona Gómez Cabrera for a value of G. 1,001 million with a participation of 16.01% of the total awarded.
BACKGROUND
The municipality of Ciudad del Este awarded Sartorio Vanni’s firm in August 2021. The amount at that time was G. 1,998 million. However, the call was eventually cancelled.
In May 2021, the firm of María de Fátima Sartorio Vanni won a contract for G. 3,922 million. The tender was 389303 called “School lunch provision service in the form of food offered by the served plate service (catering).
With the eastern commune he won a total of 11 contracts. Precisely the most important contract obtained of all was the one won in May of last year. The firm wins contracts since March 2017 with the municipality.

We tried to speak with Miguel Prieto, mayor of the city to find out more details of these contracts, but until the closing of this edition we had no answers.
Despite the victory in the last municipal elections, Prieto has accumulated 20 complaints against him in the Public Ministry. Most related to the alleged overbilling of municipal works.
The first administration of the re-elected mayor began in May 2019 and lasted until June 2021. He resigned at that time to seek re-election. Finally, the following November, he achieved a victory by 82,000 votes against the Colorado candidate Ulises Quintana. At the time, he was elected to continue the mandate of the dismissed mayor Sandra McLeod de Zacarías.
