On the night of Tuesday the 3rd, the governor of Chihuahua, Maru Campos, spoke about these facts and through a video message, reported that she immediately requested the dismissal of the director of Cereso 3, Alejandro Alvarado Téllez, and ordered the State Attorney’s Office to issue a detailed report on the prison situation and an exhaustive investigation to find the escaped prisoners.
Maru Campos also made a call not to politicize the events and expressed that her government assumes the corresponding responsibility, which is why actions have been taken to fundamentally change the problem of insecurity and the prison system.
“Violence, particularly violence in prisons, is a cancer of years and today we are experiencing the consequences of corruption and the inaction of generations and administrations of the recent past and as in everything else, the commitment of this government has been put the house in order to start the underlying problem and give definitive solutions to the people of Juarez,” he said.
The governor also insisted that it is useless to see politicians blaming, as she mentioned, what citizens need is results.
