CCRD specializes technicians in budget management of public institutions

CCRD especializa técnicos en manejo del presupuesto de instituciones públicas

Santo Domingo.– With the aim of strengthening the technical capabilities of the personnel in the analysis of the General State Budget the National School of Accounts (ENC) of the Chamber of Accounts of the Dominican Republic (CCRD) successfully completed the training of 25 employees in Fundamentals of the Public Budget.

During the training activity, the first class of graduates of the collaborative program of the supervisory institution were trained, who analyzed in depth the components of the national budget system, the programmatic budget structure, budget classifiers, results-based budgeting methodology and performance indicators, among other relevant topics.

Complutense University

Lasting eight weeks, the course was taught by Giselle Beras Vásquez, an economist who graduated from the Institute Santo Domingo Technological Institute (INTEC)with a master’s degree in Public Economics from the Complutense University of Madrid, Spain, and who works as head of the Macroeconomic Analysis Division of the Chamber of Accounts.

The act of Closing and delivery of certificates was headed by Griselda Gómez Santana, member of the CCRD Plenary, and Juan Miguel Pérez, director of the National School of Accounts.

When pronouncing the central words of the event, Pérez explained that it was a moment especially significantconstituting the first training program developed by the National School of Accounts with internal staff who share their knowledge with other collaborators, for the direct benefit of the institution.

Closing ceremony

From this perspective, he expressed: “We want to celebrate the beginning of a training process that allows us to identify our internal talents and create an institutional inventory, so that our training can also be promoted from the institution itself.”.

Likewise, he maintained that it is a strategy that “strengthens the recognition of those collaborators who, due to their career and level of knowledge, have the ability to train their colleagues”.

Ivette Griselle Melo Núñez, director of Budget Analysis, also participated during the event, who congratulated the course participants for their dedication, commitment and great effort”.

Melo Núñez stated that “This training program is a demonstration of the interest and vision of the new management to provide technical staff with the necessary knowledge and skills to maximize their potential and contribute to the continuous improvement of institutional processes and products.”.

Present at the closing ceremony were Fabio Enrique Roa, general director of Audit; Nurys Matilde Bastardo, director of Human Resources; Jairo Espinal, financial director; Alejandro Ozuna, director of Planning and Development, and Franklin Ureña Capellán, director of Information and Communication Technology, among others officials of the institution.

The Plenary Session of the Chamber of Accounts of the Dominican Republic, headed by its president, Dr. Emma Polanco Melo, together with vice president Francisco Tamárez Florentino and the members Francisco Franco, Ramón Méndez Acosta and Griselda Gómez Santana, maintains the professional training and strengthening of the skills of CCRD servants as fundamental pillars for an oversight of public resources based on transparency, ethics and efficiency.
