In Panama, the creation of jobs in the private sector and the promotion of formal entrepreneurship through an adequate framework for business development are urgently needed, as stated by the Chamber of Commerce, Industries and Agriculture of Panama (CCIAP) after the success of EXPO KONCERTA, job fair where thousands of Panamanians came in search of a job.
According to the CCIAP, the generation of jobs helps to reactivate the country’s economy, which must be accompanied by study plans focused on preparing skilled labor.
“From the Chamber of Commerce, we insist that the national urgency must be the creation of jobs in the private sector and the promotion of formal entrepreneurship through an adequate framework for business development, accompanied by curricula focused on preparing hand qualified work to meet the needs of the labor market; so that people have the ability to access positions that allow their growth and professional development, and at the same time improve their living conditions and that of their families”, said Marcela Galindo, president of this business association.
What was witnessed during these days at EXPO KONZERTA, according to Galindo, demonstrates the number of Panamanians eager to find a job. “To the extent that we are able to create jobs, we boost consumption and companies will be able to create new jobs. A necessary virtuous circle, so today in order for such a dynamic to happen, we are taking firm steps in that direction”.
He stated that “it was gratifying to share this vision with Konzerta and the 45 member companies for participating in this job fair, given the most important challenge we have as a country, job creation; since we live in times of change and transformation, the Panamanian economy is going through a moment of transition, in which we must look for new areas that help us to energize the country and we are sure that through the fair we took another step in that direction ” .
