After a new bomb threat, launched on digital media, yesterday the students, teachers and administrative staff of the College of Sciences and Humanities (CCH) Oriente were evacuated after noon.
The campus management reported that an exhaustive review was carried out, and preventively suspended classes for the rest of the day, although no explosive device was found, so, with this false alarm, the university has made more than 30 threats in a month and a half.
Due to this situation, today the Faculty of Chemistry will hold a talk on the protocol to follow in the event of an explosive device, since these false emergencies continue in different campuses of the institution, which generate “uncertainty and seek to create the feeling of ungovernability within the highest house of studies,” said sources from the rectory.
Meanwhile, the Faculty of Medicine disseminated on its social networks the protocol in the event of the presence and use of a firearm within the campus, pointing out that they should avoid approaching the suspicious person and not confront them and notify the authorities as long as their physical safety is not at risk. If you find a weapon, you must leave it at the site of the sighting, do not touch or move it, and notify the authorities through the app SOS UNAM.
On the other hand, less than 24 hours after the University Survey on Mental Health was opened, more than a thousand students have already responded to it online, which is voluntary, and is designed with the objective of identifying students at risk of suffering from depression, anxiety, suicidal ideation or other emotional and psychological discomfort.
Scholarship to study English
The UNAM announced that students from the nine high schools and the five CCHs will be able to register to be beneficiaries of the Support Program for the study of English, which consists of a full scholarship to take classes in this language online from November to January 2026 at the UNAM Foundation Executive Training and Language Center.
The call closes on November 10 and on the 18th of the same month those selected will be announced according to criteria of academic performance and financial need.
