CCH Naucalpan community holds new meeting against cheerleading

Naucalpan, Méx., University authorities, parents, teachers and workers from the College of Sciences and Humanities (CCH) Naucalpan participated yesterday in the second dialogue table for campus security, installed in response to the events of May 8, when a group of joints attacked students, an act that left one dead, several injured and nine arrested.

The second table had a wide participation of students and parents, it concluded after the parties agreed to hold more meetings in order to promote agreements and actions to improve internal and external security.

The meeting was attended by authorities from the UNAM rectory, the general director of the CCH, Benjamín Barajas, the director of the Naucalpan campus, Keshava Quintanar, as well as students and parents.

At the meeting, the points of agreement from the previous Friday were resumed and the explanation of the points was expanded for the university community present yesterday.

Parents insisted on the priority demand: eradicate the presence of gang groups at school and insisted that this is not the first time that young people have attacked students, but no progress has been made on the issue.

Likewise, it was recalled that in the first meeting it was agreed to analyze the strengthening of the culture of reporting, carry out a consultation with the community on violence outside the campus, invite municipal and state authorities to the tables, install panic buttons and systems external supervision, participatory review of the CCH security protocols, conducting drills, having an ambulance for medical emergencies and scheduling work tables and monitoring for the 2025-1 semester.

Until now, the media have been prevented from accessing the dialogue tables.
