This Monday, the Subcommittee on Constitutional Accusations rejected the reconsideration that sought a vote on Cavero’s report again. However, the proposal did not obtain the necessary support.
As recalled, the subcommittee filed, with the casting vote of its president, the complaint against Merino de Lama, former Prime Minister Ántero Flores-Aráoz and former Minister of the Interior Gastón Rodríguez, as Alejandro Cavero stated in his report.
The vote was held on June 17, after Cavero’s presentation and a debate in which those who questioned the filing of the complaint asked that the witnesses and relatives of the victims be heard.
