The Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE) released, this Friday (10), the preliminary results of the Livestock Production Statistics. Full results will be released on March 15.
From the data obtained so far, the slaughter of cattle increased by 6.9%, that of pigs, 2.7%, and that of chickens, 2.1%, in the fourth quarter of 2022. The comparison is made with the same quarter of 2021.
Regarding animal derivatives, there was growth in the acquisition of chicken eggs. Production was 1.03 billion dozen, up 3.1%.
The acquisition of leather by tanneries was 4.5% higher, with production of 7.55 million whole pieces of rawhide. The acquisition of milk fell 4.2%, with 6.23 billion liters in total.
