Santo Domingo.- The Catholic Church of Santo Domingo celebrated this Thursday its “Eucharistic Encounter RD”, on the occasion of the Day of Corpus Christiwhose activity was attended by hundreds of faithful who gathered at the Columbus Lighthouse, in the Villa Duarte sector, in Santo Domingo Este.
A Eucharist was celebrated there presided over by Monsignor Francisco Osoria, Metropolitan Archbishop of Santo Domingo, who exhorted Christians to practice solidarity with their brothers.

The religious assured that the covid-19 pandemic has taught Christians that they must always practice solitude with their brothers and unite for brotherhood.
«The pandemic has left us things that we have to learn and practice, among them are solidarity with our brothers, as well as brotherhood. The Eucharist is something very important for Catholics, because it teaches us to be in solidarity with people who are in need,” said the Catholic priest.
Representatives from the different vicariates of the Archdiocese of Santo Domingo participated in the Eucharist, among them those of Santo Domingo Norte, Este, Oeste, and the National District.
The mayor of Santo Domingo Este, Manuel Jiménez, the senator of the province, Antonio Taveras, as well as municipal officials were present at the activity.
