Catholic Church performs Eucharist for the unity of dialogue in the face of the crisis that Panama is going through

At 8:00 am this Tuesday, the Archdiocese of Panama held a Eucharist in order to pray together so that the dialogue is not a discussion or a debate of ideas, but a search for the truth among all; this, in the face of the crisis facing the country due to the high cost of living, medicines and corruption.

During the Eucharistic celebration, Monsignor José Domingo Ulloa, who is part of the delegation from the Catholic Church that is mediating at that dialogue table with various sectors of civil society, expressed that “none of us can play at being a spectator, believing that from our particular corner we are safe from the lessons of history, and we must pray for the war to end, so that the economy that kills does not win, so that love replaces hate, solidarity replaces indifference, so that the dialogue is stronger than weapons”.

He added that given the reality we live in, in addition to human contributions, there is a much more efficient and effective contribution: the strong conviction in the power of prayer.

“Prayer is making us more and more the image of God, it is making us more similar to Christ. That is why we must pray so that it is He who becomes the authentic and only protagonist,” Ulloa remarked in his homily.

Along the same lines, the facilitating team of the Catholic Church reiterated that, as has been pointed out in all its communications, this dialogue has several stages.

In this first phase, the actors who have expressed their discomfort and discontent in the streets and highways will participate, together with the Executive Branch. In a second phase, each one of the actors of society will be there to build the Panama we want.

For this reason, this Tuesday, July 19, a meeting will be held only with representatives of the United People for Life Alliance, the National Alliance of the Organized People (Anadepo) and leaders of the groups of the Ngnöbe-Buglé Comarca, to begin their dialogue between them, accompanied by the facilitating team of the Church.
