Página Siete Digital The Vice Minister of Epidemiological Promotion and Surveillance, María Renee Castro, assured that the increase in Covid-19 cases is not due to the lack of vaccines or detection tests for the disease, but to the “lack of will” of the population.

“Vaccines are guaranteed for the entire population; the same as diagnostic tests (…). Therefore, vaccines cannot be an excuse, there is no lack of vaccines, there is no lack of second doses, there is no lack of absolutely nothing; more than the will to work and vaccinate and diagnose our population, “Castro said at a press conference.

The authority warned this Thursday of an increase of 13.5% in coronavirus infections and a decrease in the taking of tests, in relation to the previous epidemiological week.

In the fourth wave, Santa Cruz is once again the region that reports the most infections nationwide. The Deputy Minister of Health warned of an 18% increase in Covid-19 infections compared to the previous week; while the taking of diagnoses reduced by 10%.

Bolivia once again exceeded a thousand coronavirus infections per day on Wednesday, reaching 1,119 cases and 765 recovered. The total number of patients accumulated since the beginning of the pandemic is 526,306.
