The President Pedro Castillo and his ministers meet at the Government Palace at night, in the midst of a political crisis unleashed by a testimony that Karelim López would have given before the Prosecutor’s Office. Both the president and the head of the PCM, Aníbal Torres, and the Minister of Foreign Trade and Tourism, Roberto Sánchez, attended the meeting.
Outside the Palace there was movement by the official authorities and the press is waiting to hear any news about the position that the Executive will adopt due to the strong accusation that the businesswoman would have made against the head of state.

Hours before, the president’s lawyer, Eduardo Pachas, was seen at the scene, who pointed out that the president is not involved in any act of corruption and that López’s testimony would be part of a “vacador plan.”
For his part, Castillo Terrones also referred to the issue through his Twitter account and dismissed the accusations considering that “these do not have legal support or consistency with the truth.”
The president considered that the alleged revelations of Karelim López in the Prosecutor’s Office are “anti-democratic political maneuvers with the purpose of generating instability in the country.”
Karelim López accepted effective collaboration and would have revealed a criminal organization
The businesswoman and business promoter Karelim López Arredondo availed herself of the effective collaboration procedure, in the midst of the investigation initiated against her by the Specialized Prosecutor for Money Laundering, led by Luz Taquire Reynoso.
In a declaration of effective collaboration attributed to the company, she accused the head of state of leading a criminal organization that would obtain money with public works tenders through appointments in the Health Directorates at the national level, promotions in the armed institutes and tax claims before SUNAT.
