When consulted by Perú21, Salas said that it was Navarro who had the initiative to approach his office to request the interview, to which he agreed as an intermediary, but denied any act of interference.

Pedro Castillo assured on TV Peru that the press will not wait “100 more days” to interview him. “We are going to turn this page, I think Peru needs to be more informed and we are going to continue informing the country in this way,” he said.
Salas then added that the president will go to the media, but emphasized that the interviews “must be respectful and objective.”
The president assured that he will submit to the fiscal investigations to determine his guilt or innocence in the alleged mafia entrenched in the MTC, which was dedicated to directing public works. “I am totally ready. I am going to attend the call of the prosecutor or other instances that have to do with the investigation, ”he emphasized.
However, his defense insists on using different legal tools to annul the inquiries. Pedro Castillo is being investigated for the alleged crimes of criminal organization, influence peddling and aggravated collusion.
