The president of the Republic, peter castleannounced that teachers’ salaries will be increased starting next year, during his National Holiday speech before the Congress of the Republic.
“The 2023 Budget Law provides for a substantive increase in remuneration for appointed and contracted teachers, and education assistants”he indicated.
In addition, he explained that the Executive seeks to establish a salary floor equivalent to 1 tax unit (UIT) for the first teacher’s scale in 2026. Currently, in 2022, the ITU is worth S / 4,600. This figure usually rises every year.
“Remunerative policies are being worked on with a projection to the year 2026 in order to reach a salary floor corresponding to 1 UIT for the first magisterial scale. To this end, a progressive increase in the remuneration of the appointed and contracted teacher is proposed.I note.
On the other hand, he recalled that since this year the contracted teachers and assistants of basic and productive technical education receive a bonus for schooling.
In addition, as a result of collective bargaining, hired and appointed basic education teachers and assistants will receive an exceptional one-time bonus of S/ 950. For their part, higher education teachers will receive S/ 1,250.
In the case of the administrative staff of Legislative Decree No. 276 of the Education sector, they will receive an exceptional bonus of S / 500 one time, as well as S / 50 monthly food support from 2023.
