The Directorate of Agrarian Extension, of the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock, and its Caaguazú Agricultural Development Center, held a technical seminar for the installation of cassava seed plots in coordination with the Secretary of Agriculture of the Government of Caaguazú, in the farm of Mr. Miguel Sanabria, Aguapety Rugua
The objective of the training session and installation of cassava seed plots of the Baianinha, IAC 90 and Rama Morotí varieties will serve to provide the members of the San Antonio de Aguapety Rugua Production and Marketing Committee with excellent quality seed for the commercial crop for the next agricultural period.
In total, 13 member families of the organization will be benefited, whose sub-consumption, income, production of cassava and starch production will be benefited.
TRAINING
In addition to the practical demonstration, a technical training in selection, preparation and treatment of seed branch was carried out by Lic. Arnaldo Cañete, ALAT technician Coronel Oviedo, pest and disease management by Ing. Agr. Víctor Niz, cassava specialist; soil management, application of correctives and fertilization by Ing. Agr. Jover Abel Martínez, soil specialist.
The rural extension day had the support of the FortaleceRES projects (GIZ) and the PIMA Project of the MAG.
