After the Minister of Public Health, Dr. Karina Rando, presented in Parliament the report of the Intervention Commission that is in the mutual company, the lawyer of the medical institution, Dr. Pablo Schiavi, held a press conference where expressed his surprise at the fact that the MSP was not previously notified about the report presented in Parliament. “CASMU has no formal knowledge of what the auditors of our defenses said, nor of anything that was said in Parliament,” said Schiavi.
He explained that the entire intervention process that CASMU is experiencing, like any administrative procedure, “is subject to rules, norms, laws and regulations and is confidential between the parties.”
In that sense, he assured that CASMU has maintained the strictest confidentiality regarding all the information provided by Public Health, which is why he expressed his surprise at the MSP’s statements in Parliament.
Regarding the MSP’s decision to send the report on the interveners to the Prosecutor’s Office, Schiavi said: “If alleged irregularities were found, it obviously has the obligation to inform the Criminal Justice Department through the Court Prosecutor’s Office. CASMU has always been available and open to any investigation, if the Prosecutor’s Office understands that this is warranted and obviously it will appear accordingly. If there are individual and personal responsibilities of officials who may be involved in alleged irregularities, obviously the responsibility is 100% personal,” said the lawyer.
He also reported that the MSP’s decision does not include the displacement of authorities and expressed that the intervention will continue until July 2025.
