The task of installing 84,222 sectional box tables for the judicial election of June 1 will cost 2 thousand 701 million pesos, almost a third of the total cost of these extraordinary elections, in accordance with the adjustments approved by the National Electoral Institute ( INE).
The cut applied by the Chamber of Deputies to this body impacted the perspective of operation of vote receiving tables, going down practically in half, compared to the boxes installed in the federal election last year.
Then, thanks to a budget extension of 800 million pesos – compromised by President Claudia Sheinbaum – the INE was able to pay 10 thousand 372 more boxes for this historical election.
However, the extension implies the hiring of 441 supervisors and 2,764 trainers, that is, 3 thousand 205 people who will join the tasks of locating and preparing citizens, potential box officials.
To make possible the previous adjustment, the INE Executive General Meeting yesterday approved an additional budget of 359.5 million to this area, that is, only in this hiring 45 percent of the 800 million that the directors achieved in the meeting with Sheinbaum .
Most of the resource will be used to pay the trainers and supervisors, in addition to covering field expenses, communication services (voice and data), teaching materials and identification garments.
Due to the cut, the election organizers chose to advance with another table model; Thus, so far it was determined to install 83 thousand 997 Unique sectional boxes
and 225 Special boxes
(For transit voters).
Conflict of interest
At another point in the Board session, criteria were ratified to reject the allegations of a former worker of the Directorate of Prerogatives and Political Parties, farewell by faults to the statute of the Electoral Professional Service. The person was an INE worker and at the same time and proxy of a consulting company that provided services, among others, to the PRD.
Consequently, it is proposed to confirm the controversial resolution
