Casemiro says goodbye to Real Madrid in tears: “One day I’ll be back”

Brazilian midfielder Carlos Henrique Casemiro said goodbye to Real Madrid with a message full of emotion, from the heart, unable to hold back tears, grateful to president Florentino Pérez and to all those who have shared a stage in which he has won 18 titles, which assured it does not end because there will be “a day” that it will return.

From the video in which Real Madrid paid tribute to a player who has marked an era for the club, Casemiro could not contain his emotion. Tears on the day of his farewell prevented him from speaking from the beginning, collapsed at the beginning of his speech. He caused even president Florentino Pérez and Italian coach Carlo Ancelotti to get emotional.

“As you know, I don’t like the spotlight or having a leading role and I will try to speak with a lot of heart,” Casemiro began a message that he had not written. “When my wife and I arrived, I didn’t know anyone. We arrived in a new country, at a club like Real Madrid where we have built our lives. When I left Sao Paulo it was clear to me that I was going to play in the Real Madrid first team, but before that I had a challenge, to play for Castilla and leave through the front door. It was a great illusion because I learned the values of the club and the academy, which is the most beautiful thing. The future is the quarry and it gave me great hope”, he expressed.

The Brazilian wanted to make a quick summary of all his years at Real Madrid, grateful to all the people who have helped him along the way.

“I have won many titles and I think the biggest one was when I went out to train every day. Everything has come thanks to the help of my mother, my brothers, my dear wife who has given me two beautiful children, my family, the club, the president to whom I am very grateful, Ramón Martínez who went to look for me to Brazil”, he said excitedly.

“Thanks to the board, always kind to me, to the coaches from whom I have learned a lot, to my teammates, without them it would be impossible because 25 play football. I cannot forget two with whom we have achieved many things (Modric and Kroos), and we have really enjoyed football. Thank you very much to the club that shaped me as a person, as a player, to the fans for the incredible magical nights, I leave with the image of the last Champions League won in an incredible story”, he added.

Before receiving the club’s gold and diamond badge from the hands of Florentino Pérez and posing with all the titles won, Casemiro said goodbye, making it clear that it is a passing goodbye because his plans include returning to work at the club that has given him everything in the future.

“Thanks to the club for making me great. It is always training players, it always has the best, that is why it is the best club in the world and it continues to win because it is its identity. I want to make it very clear that it is not a goodbye, I am sure that one day I will return to show more, help the club and everything I have learned will strengthen me to continue my career in a great team like Manchester United”, he said.
