The prosecutor of the Anti-Corruption Unit of Valparaíso, Christian Andradeannounced that they will not continue to investigate the former mayor of Viña del Mar, Virginia Reginatoand the former official of the Municipal Remuneration Section, Javier Garridoin the framework of the “Overtime Hours 1” case.
The main basis of the prosecutor is that sufficient background was not proven to qualify as a crime, although he specified that there are other ongoing investigations.

One of the ongoing investigations is the “Overtime Hours 2” case, where the Viña del Mar Guarantee Court sentenced the former municipal administrator, Paul Staig and the former finance director, Manuel Echeverria.
In this scenario, the plaintiff attorney, Paul Perezhopes that the former mayor is formalized on this edge, since it was under her administration that the crimes occurred, as in “Extra Hours 1”.

Finally, the attorney for the Viña Trasparente Foundation, Javier Gomezsummoned the Public Ministry by accusing them of not wanting to “condemn or touch Virginia Reginato and that is unacceptable.”
