The investigation into the case of theft of nitrile gloves from a Caja del Seguro Social (CSS) warehouse was extended for six more months, due to the fact that the Public Ministry (MP) declared a complex cause in this process.

This case began after 481,000 nitrile gloves were stolen from the CSS warehouse in November 2020. located in the corregimiento of Pedregal.

For this crime, five former CSS officials were charged with different forms of embezzlement, and were ordered to comply with the pertinent precautionary measures: a ban on leaving the country, a periodic report, and a ban on approaching the CSS medical supplies distribution center. .

Due to the number of elements and people involved and at the request of the Anti-Corruption Prosecutor, the investigation for the crime of fraudulent embezzlement and use, related to the theft of these materials for medical use, was declared a complex cause.
