Casco Antiguo Office had an approach with the Municipal Council of Panama

In a gesture of rapprochement with local governments, the general secretary of MiCultura, José Ismael Herrera, and the director of the Old Town Office (OCA), of the Ministry of Culture, Yessenia Sánchez, expressed their commitment to maintain communication with the Municipal Council , to inform and coordinate the actions carried out by this office that ensures compliance with the regulations that govern the different activities in the area.

Sánchez, who recently took office, advocated developing teamwork in favor of culture to give it continuity in specific tasks in the community and promised to work on the protection and conservation of cultural heritage together with the Community Boards of this historic site that it is a tourist and cultural asset for the country and its residents.

The representatives of San Felipe, Mario Kennedy; from Santa Ana, Jair Martínez and from Parque Lefevre, Sebastián Abadía Sucre, stated that they were pleased because it was the first time that the Casco Antiguo Office had an approach with the Councilors to work as a team.

“We are in a process of visits in each of the Community Boards and we hope they can receive us to see joint issues of security, transportation, lighting, traffic issues within the Casco” expressed Sánchez
