Technology and modernization begin to appear in the community justice houses of peace. For this reason, the Ministry of Government (Mingob) and the Government Innovation Authority (AIG) advance a pilot plan to direct the Justice of the Peace towards digitalization.
In its first phase, the project contemplates the community justice houses of Calidonia, Chilibre, Santiago and David. For this, the first meeting was held in the House of Peace of the Calidonia corregimiento, in which the justice of the peace, Sonia Fuentes, participated.
Nicolás Rivera, director of the Alternate Directorate for Conflict Resolution (DRAC), explained that some of the procedures to be digitized are the loss of personal documents, address certification, good conduct and other records that are given at the community level. “We are going to implement it in the other Community Justice Houses of Peace to the extent that the pilot plan has the scope and acceptance, especially of the citizens,” he said.
He stressed that having Panama a digitalization network and a very solid platform in other institutions, this will facilitate that when the different procedures of the community justice houses are adjusted, they can be carried out effectively and smoothly.
This project is carried out by the Mingob, with the Municipalities of Panama, Veraguas and Chiriquí and the AIG; the latter, in charge of the development of technological tools that will allow citizens to access the platforms from their cell phones and computers 24 hours a day.
