The president of the National Commission for Primary Education, Jesús María Casal, affirmed this Wednesday, April 12, that they have already held meetings with various organizations of Venezuelans abroad in order to facilitate the participation of our nationals who live outside the country, through a digital registry that allows updating data of those who are in the Electoral Registry (RE) but who have been unable to do so due to lack of availability of official channels.
In an interview granted to GlobovisiónCasal recalled that there are countries where consulates do not work or where the updating of data in the Electoral Registry is not allowed to be able to vote, while pointing out that the data they are building would allow them to define a set of cities with a high concentration of Venezuelans to come and participate.

Regarding a response from the National Electoral Council (CNE) on aspects of technical advice for the primaries and the updating of the RE, he said that both aspects have not yet been defined, although these concerns have already been raised in the Technical Commission that They maintain with the electoral entity.
Casal recalled that special days were proposed to allow the RE to be updated because there are close to two million young people of voting age who cannot exercise their citizenship and another two million people who see their options limited change the address of the polling place.
For this reason, he hopes that a working meeting with the CNE can be held this week to generate progress and highlighted the “respectful” treatment that the Electoral Power has given him to address the proposals they have.
He took the opportunity to insist that the call for the CP has been broad and that no one has been excluded, pointing out the specific cases of politicians José Brito and Juan Carlos Alvarado, who said their request had been denied.

In this sense, Jesús María Casal indicated that in the case of Brito, in the CP his proposals were heard but there was no manifestation by the parliamentarian of the 2020 National Assembly to accept the procedure and the “consequences” of participating in the primaries; while regarding Alvarado he said that they have not received any request from him.
He stressed that on May 22 the applications for the primaries officially open and reiterated that in order to make their candidacy official, the applicants have two paths: one for the support of political organizations and the other, if independent, have 0.5% of signatures. of the electoral register of at least 12 states of the country.
