President Luis Abinader gave the first palazo for the extension of the hotel of Casa de Campo Resort & Villas, which will have a private investment of 90 million dollars and will create 500 direct jobs between construction and operations.
“I believe that it is a very important and special fact because it is the first time that they are expanding their hotel offer and that for us, first, shows the confidence of this group in the Dominican Republic, but it also shows the projections and optimism reflected in hotel investment and the tourism sector, ”said Abinader.
Meanwhile, the Minister of Tourism, David ColladoHe said that “we have recovered the dignity of the tourism sector. Without a doubt, we are facing an unprecedented historical recovery in the Dominican Republic.
The president of Casa de Campo Resort & Villas, Andrés Pichardo, He added that “in these almost 50 years, Casa de Campo has been one of the pioneers of luxury tourism and real estate in the country. We are very proud to continue developing the vision of our shareholders of the Central Romana Corporation, to continue adding numerous first class services and facilities that continue to highlight our resort among the most emblematic of the Caribbean ”.
The new infrastructure will have 64 junior suites rooms overlooking the golf course, equipped with the latest technology and amenities offered today by the best in the hotel industry.
It will also have a spa center with central lake view and a modern lounge for VIP clients.
“With these investments we continue to increase the value and quality of our resort, reaffirming that our exclusive offer of services satisfies the demand of the most demanding visitor, and with this we continue to be a benchmark as a tourist destination ”, highlighted Pichardo.
The president announced the beginning of the construction of 9 thousand hotel rooms by 2022 and investments of 60 billion pesos in the industrial sector, not including free zones.
“The amount of investments in sightseeing, industry, commerce, free zones, which will begin in 2022, are an absolutely unprecedented event in the history of the Dominican Republic, ”said the head of state.
He affirmed that the development of these sectors is of utmost importance for job creation, so there are reasons to be optimistic and to see the future in a positive way.
“Every time a hotel operation, we have 1.2 direct jobs and at least three indirect jobs. In the free zones and industries, between 200 and 500 new jobs are created and there is no better public policy than job creation ”, added the president.
He also highlighted that the country’s economic growth will close this year in double digits, ensuring that the government has the responsibility to carry out a good public spending policy, investing in social sectors to improve people’s quality of life, and that resources are used with transparency and honesty.
The event was also attended by the Minister of Industry and Commerce, Víctor -Ito- Bisonó; the Administrative Vice Minister, Igor Rodríguez; and the main executives of the Central Romana Corporation, Ramón Menéndez, Pepe Fanjul Jr., Leo Matos and Eduardo Martínez-Lima Gonzalvo.
