The head of the ANR, Horacio Cartes, announced that it will continue to be a useful tool for the entire country, from the Presidency of the Colorado Party. In addition, he said that hate speech and fighting failed. He also spoke about Mario Abdo Benítez.
In an interview with Mina Feliciángeli on Monumental radio, the president of the National Republican Association (ANR), Horacio Cartes, spoke about the results of the last elections, the attacks against the party and against him, as well as of the way in which he will help the country from his position.
On overwhelming difference obtained by the ANR in the elections of April 30, indicated that, at all times he trusted in victorybut he acknowledged that it did not occur to him that the ANR won 15 of the 17 governorships.
Regarding his role as head of the party in relation to the elected government, he replied that, Seeing that one of Peña’s priorities will be job creation, he will work hard to cooperate in this matter, as in fact the ANR has already been doing, through Enrique López Arce.
“We are going to continue being a useful tool for Paraguay in everything we can, I want to have a great presidency from the party.” He added that he also wants to bet on education, computerizing all the sections and allowing access to libraries, in order to catch up with what people need, “he said.
He clarified that Santiago Peña will be the one who decides on his cabinet and that he will not have any interference as head of the ANR. “I want to be the person who calls the President of the Republic the least, I don’t want to ask him for anything, I do not depend on the State,” he said.

Regarding the hatred that Mario Abdo Benítez has towards Cartes, he replied: “I remember that, at lunch at Calé’s house, his son, Deputy Nano, asked me, Why this visceral hatred of the president towards you? And to this day I swear on my children, that I don’t know, I didn’t find any reason, I can’t wait to find out either, he doesn’t have to be my fight or my fight, life goes on.
He added that: “If he was happy to have hurt me, having to force me to sell companies, enjoy and qMay God forgive him, because I already forgave him a while ago, I’d rather forgive than hate someone, if you hate someone, he’s living in your head and I don’t want him to be living in my mind.”
Regarding the media and political attacks from different sectors, including the media, he indicated that, “When they attack you, either you double down or you temper yourself, and I think the best thing to do was to temper yourself.”
Horacio Cartes also left a message of gratitude to the Colorado electorate that led him to the ANR Presidency, as well as to those who chose the other option. “I tell you, thank you very much to all of you, especially to those who trustedwe will leave every last drop of sacrifice and those who don’t, go out and try to earn affection.
“The only strength was that I felt that the Almighty never reached out to me,” he concluded.
