After the decision to declare former president Horacio Cartes and his family as significantly corrupt persons by the United States, authorities affirm that the former president is a danger to democratic institutions.
One of those who took a position was the former Minister of the Interior, Arnaldo Giuzzio, who wrote on social networks that four months ago he denounced Cartes for his link to organized crime and abuse of power in his government.
“Today they begin to prove us right. Cartes is significantly corrupt to the US government,” she stated.
Senator Jorge Querey, in contact with radio 1000 AM, stated that judicial sectors were fighting internally with a strong communications/political offensive. “This is a confirmation of the public denunciations that we have been making,” the senator added.
He added that it should be understood that the country is becoming an International Money Laundering Agency. “I am going to refloat in the bench the request for impeachment of the State Attorney General, here there has been a serious omission if it is not complicity,” he advanced on 1000AM.
The candidate for the presidency of the Republic for the PPQ, Sebastián Villarejo, harshly criticized former president Horacio Cartes, after being identified as “significantly corrupt” by the United States Embassy, ”Cartes is a danger to democratic institutions,” he shot Villarejo.
Villarejo pointed out that if the former president “used the Presidency of the Republic to hinder investigations against relatives and business associates, he should stay away from any activity of political influence,” he said.
Finally, the parliamentarian gave a message to the national authorities, stating that “justice must act now.”
