Ecopetrol reported that The Cartagena Refinery had started the major maintenance process in three processing unitsHydrocracking, Hydrogen and Sulfur. These works will last about 50 days, they reported.

To perform maintenanceor the company will spend $243 billion and nearly 1,500 direct jobs will be generated during the 50 days of maintenance.
The Cartagena Refinery is responsible for processing 210,000 barrels per day, in its 35 units and according to Ecopetrol, the maintenance work will not have an impact on the local supply of liquid fuels.

“Major maintenance or plant shutdown, as it is commonly known, is carried out in order to Inspect the equipment to make any necessary repairs, replace parts and perform technical actions or processes that allow the original functionality of the equipment to be recovered or even improved.“the company said.
In the maintenance process1.2 million pounds of catalyst will be replaced in the three units, which according to the oil company represents the largest amount of this product exchanged so far.

Likewise, in the process a general analysis of compressors, motors, pipes and
