Finally, the private initiative project for the expansion of the Rafael Núñez International Airport, Cartagena, by the Directing Council of Civil Aeronautics.
The Sociedad Aeroportuaria de la Costa SA (Sacsa), welcomes this decision, since, in accordance with its directives, the airport expansion project was presented several years ago.

The project estimates the construction of a new international terminal of 17,360 meters square meters, the expansion of the main platform to 99,770 square meters and the remodeling of the current terminal with the intervention of 25,144 square meters.
“We are very happy with the approval of the expansion of the Rafael Núñez International Airport, given by the Civil Aeronautics. Being Sacsa originators of this important project, we know what it means for the entire Caribbean region and Cartagena tourism. With this signed project, a new terminal for international passengers will be created with five boarding bridges, the parking area will be expanded with an elevated building, a taxiway will be built, among other adjustments. This not only favors Colombians, but also all our visitors from different countries.”, mentions the manager of Corporate Affairs, María Claudia Gedeón.

On the other hand, in addition to improving the infrastructure of Rafael Núñez, this approval seeks encourage tourism in the city and the Caribbean region.
Likewise, the generation of direct and indirect jobs, it would become one of the most relevant factors to make possible the different projects and activate the economic development of ‘la heroica’.
