The public transport drivers of Cochabamba block Blanco Galindo Avenue in the municipality of Quillacollo, demanding the maintenance of the roads, since they affirm that they are “impassable”. By the measure, hundreds of people and passengers were harmed.
With umbrellas in hand, caps and masks, the injured had to continue their journey on foot. Some people circulated around the place on motorcycles and bicycles, because both lanes of the Blanco Galindo were closed with minibuses that were parked in the center of the avenue.
From five in the morning this Thursday, the transport decided to block kilometer 10 to Suticollo, a route that connects Cochabamba with the western regions of the country.
“We are doing the vigil, our claim has to do with the fact that there are several road arteries that are affected, for example, not even three years have passed since the asphalt was delivered and they are already ruined. We pay taxes and where does that go, but it is not used for road maintenance,” one of the drivers who complies with the measure complained to Bolivia TV.

Another driver pointed out that they are mobilized due to the poor condition of the roads, such as the one that connects with Plaza Bolívar, in Quillacollo, which is damaged and affects their motorized vehicles that are used as a means of work.
“We are in a state of emergency until the authorities provide a solution,” he said.
The claim is addressed to the mayor of the city of Quillacollo, Héctor Cartagena, to the Government of Cochabamba and to the Bolivian Highway Administrator (ABC).
The state television media reported that the Mayor’s Office of Quillacollo and the transport representatives began a meeting at 10:00 this Thursday.
