Carriers ask SDE to be declared in a state of health emergency

The National Front of Transporters of the People First Party (PPG) asked the President of the Republic, Luis Abinader, that Santo Domingo Este (SDE) be declared in a State of Sanitary Emergency and Public Calamity, due to the large accumulation of garbage that was records in its main roads.

The PPG considered that the municipality has become open-air dumps, a problem that affects residents.

“We ask Luis Abinader to intervene through PROPPEP, FEDOPO and the Dominican Municipal League, given the inability shown by the Santo Domingo Este Municipal Council and because we fear that as a consequence of the large number of rats, cockroaches and mosquitoes that abound in those neighborhoods, Cholera, Dengue, Leptopirosis and other diseases spread in this demarcation”, requested the PPG.

The union that brings together the drivers affiliated with the People First Party, said that the situation is very worrying, since the municipalities of these demarcations have neglected the issue of garbage collection.

Mario Diaz, who will assume the candidacy for Mayor for the Municipality of Santo Domingo Oeste, spoke at a press conference accompanied by several pre-candidates for mayors from other demarcations of Greater Santo Domingo, who will participate as candidates in the next municipal elections on the ballot of the People First Party (PPG).
