Carrasquilla: “We cannot hide it, there is a garbage crisis in San Miguelito”

The mayor of San Miguelito, Héctor Valdés Carrasquilla, said on Radio Panama that the mayor’s office is struggling to try to help the communities by collecting garbage, however, he acknowledges that there is a garbage crisis in San Miguelito due to a conflict between the workers and the company Revisalud.

“We ask the company Revisalud and the workers to put interests first, the important thing is to provide a good collection service and this is the best moment to tell the people of San Miguelito that we are going to put the entire working class in order to combat the problem of rubbish but we also tell the population to make a better disposal to make a better disposal of the waste».

In recent weeks, images have been seen of different sectors of the district with enormous amounts of garbage not being collected, including blocking entrances to sidewalks and internal streets.
