This Monday, September 12, Cosse toured the Expo Prado 2022, an instance in which he made statements to the media.
When asked about an evident political confrontation between representatives of the national Executive and the opposition, the head of the departmental government replied that it is necessary to “stop judicializing politics and dialogue more.”
“We have to make an enormous contribution to the coexistence of people. We have to give the example of coexistence. Society, not only in Uruguay, has a problem, right now, of a lot of irritability, that’s why we have to lower a couple of gears”, said Cosse.
He noted that such a situation is found in the small gestures of ordinary citizens, first getting angry and mistrusting, when the first thing should always be dialogue. “When something happens in transit, the first thing is anger, small everyday things that must be changed, and the political system has to be an example.”
Poverty
In another order, he referred to the increase in poverty and the collection of household waste.
“What you see now in Montevideo is not a matter of waste collection, but of the economic crisis. There are cars, because there are more poor people; There are still 300 soup kitchens operating in Montevideo, people need to eat and go out to do what they can. It is not an issue of the Intendancy, we help in everything we can. Trash pickup is fine, like never before,” she said.
