The Highway Police alerted this Saturday for a high traffic flow on the Interbalnearia routecoinciding with the previous carnival holidaywhich falls on Monday 20 and Tuesday 21 February.
Between 12:00 and 14:00 this Saturday there was a peak of 2,800 vehicles per hour that circulated towards the east of the country, in a “massive exit”, reported Caminera. Later, around 4:15 p.m. there was a traffic accident at kilometer 67 of the Interbalnearia route that caused a slowdown due to the fact that the path was cut off and the vehicles circulate on the side street of the highway.
“The accident is not serious, the car intends to cross the road and is hit by a taxi that was traveling to the east. The driver of the vehicle that tried to cross was multiple traumatized,” reported the Highway Police.

Caminera’s recommendations to avoid inconveniences in traffic include taking extreme precautions, slowing down, and keeping a prudent distance from vehicles. He also remembers that driving on the shoulder on the road is prohibited and suggests routes 8 and 9 as alternatives to the Interbalnearia.
