Santo Domingo.- One of the members of the gang that attacked the jeweler’s Argenis Oro, located in the community of San Luis, Santo Domingo Este, was killed early yesterday morning after a shootout with a police patrol in the La Toronja sector of El Almirante, Santo Domingo Este, the National Police reported this Wednesday.
The law enforcement institution details that the deceased, identified as José Miguel López, alias “Carnaval”, 23 years old, was being pursued by various arrest warrants, in addition to being involved in other cases of murder, robberies and assaults.
The preliminary report indicates that “Carnaval” had in his possession a Browning pistol, caliber 9 millimeters, with serial No. 41653, which he was carrying illegally and with which he attacked the agents, who repelled the attack, causing him the wounds that he sustained. They were fatal.

The deceased was under several arrest warrants, numbered 973-2024-EMES-11326, 530-2024-EMES-00946, 0136-SEPTIEMBRE-2024 and 530-2024-EMES-02179, dated 10/31/2024.
Captured and brought to justice
In relation to the assault on the Argenis Oro jewelry store, which occurred at the end of last month, the named José Luis Sano Gómez was captured in Boca Chica, who also had an arrest warrant, numbered 530-2024-EMES-02165, issued by a judge. competent.
Sano Gómez is identified as the driver of the gray Ford Explorer SUV, license plate G365568, used in the assault on the jewelry store. During the investigation, a chain identified by the complainant as one of the items stolen in the robbery was recovered.
Both cases are processed by the Public Ministry for the corresponding legal purposes.
