Carmen Rosa Molina makes a grand return to the theatre as Dora in “La Lechuga”

Santo Domingo. – Actress Carmen Rosa Molina has returned in style to the Dominican theater scene with a masterful interpretation of the character “Dora” in the acclaimed play “La Lechuga” by César Sierra, which was presented with great success in the Ravelo room of the “Eduardo Brito” National Theater, under the direction of Carlos Espinal.

This return marks a significant stage in her career after having lived in the United States for more than two decades. In addition to her leading role, Carmen Rosa served as executive producer of this magnificent theatrical piece.

Her new role highlights her intention to break into the world of production, both in theater and film, through her own production company. “Producing allows me to see art from another perspective and I am excited about the new projects that are coming,” said Carmen, who described her experience playing Dora as “wonderful.”

In “La Lechuga,” Dora is a crucial performance that symbolizes the voice of reason and hope amidst the family dysfunction experienced by the other characters: Héctor Córdoba (Mateo Gómez), Virginia Martínez (Sabrina Gómez), Víctor Martínez (Miguel Alcántara) and Vinicio Martínez (Carlos Espinal). Her presence is a necessary counterpoint that unravels the tensions and secrets between the characters, underlining the importance of reconciliation and forgiveness.

This emotional complexity and depth make Dora an indispensable role that Carmen has been able to carry out with great interpretive skill. For this reason, her performance has been received with enthusiasm by the public and specialized critics, consolidating her as one of the outstanding actresses of Dominican theater.

Carmen Rosa’s return to the Dominican scene is not only a significant professional event, but also an emotional reunion with her roots and culture. “For me, returning to act in my native country after 22 years of living abroad means a deep reconnection with my roots and my culture,” said the actress who became known in the unforgettable television series “Ciudad Nueva.”

Returning with “La Lechuga” has been an opportunity to reconnect with the Dominican public, which she missed so much. It also means not only an artistic renewal, but the possibility that more local talents can have the opportunity to receive support in the scene and can see in her an example of perseverance and love for art.

Carmen Rosa, with her unparalleled talent and emotional return, has once again demonstrated why she is a beloved and respected figure in the Dominican cultural scene.
