LAFC got off to a very good start in this duel between the two most outstanding teams in MLS to date, so much so that in the 8th minute Kwadwo Opoku had already hit the post.

However, the first goal of the night was scored by Philadelphia thanks to Dániel Gazdag, who finished off a great play started by Argentinean Julián Carranza.

LAFC attacked relentlessly and did not stop generating dangerous chances, but the equalizer did not come until the 56th minute with a strong shot by Opoku off a pass from Ecuadorian José Cifuentes.

When it seemed that the Angelenos had everything in their face to overcome the match, Carranza appeared in the 67th minute with a beautiful and tight shot to the far post that made it 1-2.

Once again paddling against the current, LAFC insisted on attack until in the 82nd minute they achieved the final tie with a goal from Argentine Franco Escobar after a rebound from a corner.

The match ended in a very exciting way with both teams valiantly searching for the winning goal and, already in stoppage time, Mamadou Fall was about to be the hero of LAFC with a spectacular bicycle kick that narrowly missed.

After this tie, LAFC, still undefeated at home and in which Vela has six games without seeing the door, continues as leader of the West with 23 points and takes three points from Austin FC, who plays on Sunday against Javier’s LA Galaxy ‘Chicharito’ Hernández (fourth with 16 points).

For its part, the Philadelphia Union continues to lead the East with 19 points, one more than the New York Red Bulls, who this Saturday did not go beyond a 1-1 draw against the Portland Timbers.

Apart from the highly anticipated match between LAFC and Philadelphia Union, the great protagonist of Saturday in MLS was the Mexican Ronaldo Cisneros with a triplet in just over half an hour for Atlanta United.

The striker scored his first goal in the 3rd minute culminating a great collective combination of his team, added his second goal in the 27th minute taking advantage of a rebound and closed his hat-trick by going one-on-one against the Chicago Fire goalkeeper in the 36th minute.

On the other hand, Gonzalo Higuaín’s Inter Miami, who did not play due to injury, added their second consecutive loss by losing their visit to Charlotte FC 1-0.

In addition, CF Montréal thrashed Orlando City 4-1 with a goal from Argentina’s Joaquín Torres; DC United won 2-0 over a Houston Dynamo that has gone four games without a win, and Brandon Vázquez gave FC Cincinnati an agonizing victory in the 93rd minute at Minnesota United (0-1).

For their part, the Seattle Sounders, who made history on Wednesday by becoming the first MLS team to win the Concacaf Champions League, fell to FC Dallas 2-0 while the San Jose Earthquakes prevailed 1 -0 with so much of the Brazilian Nathan to the Colorado Rapids.

Ultimately, New York City FC and Sporting Kansas City were held to a scoreless draw, and the Columbus Crew started a 2-2 draw against the New England Revolution with an 89th-minute strike from Erik Hurtado.
