The released political prisoner Carlos Valle is once again in the prisons of the dictatorship of Daniel Ortega and Rosario Murillo. His daughter Elsa Valle explained to Article 66 that the human rights defender Pablo Cuevas informed him that his father is detained in the Directorate of Judicial Assistance (DAJ).
The place where Valle is being held captive is known as “El Chipote”, a place where political prisoners are subjected to cruel, inhuman and degrading treatment, according to reports from relatives and national and international human rights organizations.
“What worries me about my father’s detention is that he is an elderly person who suffers from high blood pressure and that they do not allow him to receive the medicine he needs, the food he needs and the time he can be kept in captivity because in that place it is not suitable for an older person and who has not done anything, ”said the also released politician of the Ortega-Murillo dictatorship.

Carlos Valle’s daughter finds no reason for her father’s arrest, but maintains that the dictatorship was “afraid because the municipal elections were coming” and that there had been an “uprising of the people.” “We are not involved in anything,” she reiterated.
“My demand is that they release him because there is no reason to keep him locked up. If they release him, I am going to send him out of the country immediately,” stressed the political exile of the Ortega-Murillo regime.
The arrest of Carlos Valle
On the morning of Saturday, November 5, on the eve of the municipal elections, Carlos Valle was sleeping in his home in the Colonia Unidad de Propósito, in Managua. Police officers violently broke the gates of his house at around nine in the morning, scaled the wall and forcibly entered the property without presenting an arrest warrant, his daughter Elsa Valle explained to Article 66.

Valle became one of the most recognized opponents of the Ortega and Murillo regime in the country. After his release, the opponent continued to protest against the regime for a few more months. On several occasions he was besieged and harassed by the police and paramilitary groups.
