The former congressman and Senate candidate for Popular Force, Carlos Tubinogenerated controversy and repudiation comments on social networks after showing its position on child pregnancy and the abortion of minors as a result of rape.
During an interview in Latina on the Debate Extremo program, Tubino proposed that one of the solutions to this problem would be education so that 13 and 14 year old girls do not become mothers.
However, the former parliamentarian stated that he does not believe in abortion for rape, only in therapeutic abortion. “Even when the issues of rape are played out judicially, look, there are many things that remain with loose rags here, loose rags there, sometimes false accusations and the truth is that I do not agree,” he expressed.

Seconds later, when asked if he confirmed his position despite the large number of rapes and child pregnancies in the Amazon, Tubino assured that “the solution is not abortion, the solution is education.”
“Given this situation, is your opinion that abortion should not be given and that girls or adolescents who are pregnant as a result of rape should continue with the pregnancy?” asked the Latina journalist.
“Of course, they are not always rapes; this… sometimes they are also nights of pleasure and then a rape complaint is made,” Tubino responded.
Immediately, the behavior refuted him: Nights of pleasure for girls or teenagers, Mr. Tubino?” “Well, look, we see it every day,” he replied.
“But they are minors, they have no decision regarding it. When an adult, unfortunately, abuses a girl or adolescent, we could not say that they are having a night of pleasure,” questioned the Latina journalist.
“Yes. Well, in a case like the one you have raised at this moment, I agree with you, that is not a night of pleasure. It can happen, I have said. But, on the other hand, this, I am not affirming or generalizing. What I do tell you is that I do not agree with abortion due to rape. I do agree when the mother’s life is in danger,” Tubino said.
