He Government of Peruthrough the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, appointed Carlos Jesús Rossi Covarrubias as Consul General of Peru in Mexico City.
The designation is made official through Supreme Resolution 040-2023-RE, published in the Legal Regulations bulletin of the Official Gazette El Peruano.
The provision specifies that the consular jurisdiction will be that established in Supreme Decree 081-2016-RE, of October 12, 2016.
Likewise, they are extended to Carlos Rossio Covarrubias the corresponding patent letters.
In addition, it specifies that the date on which the aforementioned diplomatic official must assume functions will be set by vice-ministerial resolution.
In the same way, it specifies that this appointment is in accordance with the Consolidated Text of the Law of the Diplomatic Service of the Republic and its regulations; and, the Regulation of Organization and Functions of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The Supreme Resolution is signed by the President of the Republic, Dina Boluarte; and the head of Foreign Relations, Ana Cecilia Gervasi.
Carlos Rossi had been serving since January 2022 as Minister in the Diplomatic Service of the Republic and Director of Security and Defense of the General Directorate for Multilateral and Global Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The appointment of the new consul general of Mexico City occurs after Foreign Minister Gervasi went to Congress to explain that the change of officials responds to a rotation.
