First down. Juan Carlos Ortiz Villalta could no longer command the Regional Infrastructure Management and irrevocably resigned from his position. Apparently the questioning of advisers and managers in recent weeks took an expensive toll on the management of regional governor Kimmerlee Gutiérrez Canahuire.
In a brief letter addressed to the governor, Ortiz Villalta does not explain the reasons for his decision and rather asks that his resignation be effective from March 1, in order to fully comply with the closing of the month.
Correo spoke with the now former regional manager and pointed out that his resignation from the position is due strictly for personal reasons.
“For the moment we will close the process and on Monday we will deliver the position, later we will give details of the resignation,” he said.
GOOD RELATIONS. In addition, Ortiz Villalta denied that he had disputes with the regional manager José Luis Suclla Medina and further pointed out that they had a cordial working relationship.
“My employment relationship with the regional manager has nothing to do with my resignation from the Infrastructure management position. We have always had a cordial working relationship with him,” she said.
REPLACEMENT. While Juan Carlos Ortiz’s letter of resignation was sent to the table at 2:34 p.m., half an hour later the governor named architect Mario Calderón as his replacement, who until then had been the head of the Maintenance office of the Regional Government of Arequipa.
Ortiz Villalta had been appointed Infrastructure Manager on November 12, 2021 through Regional Executive Resolution 421-2021-GRA/GR. And his work had focused on resolving the paralysis of projects in the region, mainly hospitals.
The regional governor Kimmerlee Gutiérrez pointed out a few days ago that her managers are under permanent evaluation, precisely because they were positions of trust.
