The event, titled “Saving Lives: From Our Hearts to Cuba,” will take place from 4:30 to 7:00 p.m. in the AC-1 room, room 194.

The event seeks to raise $250,000 to send 300 or more pacemakers to Cuba, where a shortage of these devices has left heart patients in critical condition. “Cubans with heart conditions are dying or confined to hospital beds due to a lack of pacemakers to implant,” reads the event announcement.
According to Saving Lives, each pacemaker costs $500 and will be implanted by Cuban surgeons at no cost to patients.
The campaign also aims to denounce the United States economic embargo against the island’s regime and advocate for Cuba’s exit from the list of State Sponsors of Terrorism“Urge your representatives in Congress and the White House: Take Cuba off the list!
