Carlos Lanz's wife was the intellectual author of the murder

Carlos Lanz’s wife was the intellectual author of the murder

As the “crab of the decade”, the Attorney General of the Republic, Tarek William Saab, described the kidnapping, disappearance and finally, the murder of Professor Carlos Lanz, almost two years after the event that occurred on August 8, 2020.

Mary Cumare, wife of Professor Carlos Lanz, would have paid $8,000 to her lover, Glen Castellano, to look for hit men to carry out the murder.

Cumare had requested the murder of Lanz three months before the event, reported the Prosecutor. “The body must never be found,” Cumare asked his mistress, Glen Castellano.

The Attorney General, Tarek William Saab reported that so far 13 people have been arrested for their involvement in the kidnapping and subsequent murder of Professor Carlos Lanz.

«The accusations continue, I do not rule out new detainees in the case. Investigations are continuing,” Saab said.

“This event was so thoroughly organized that they had the perfect alibi for the perfect crime, as they revealed it in their necrophiliac gatherings,” said the Prosecutor according to the statements of those involved in the case.

“Today with irrefutable, convincing and devastating evidence, we reveal why, when and where this abominable crime occurred and they unworthily pointed the finger at the Venezuelan State,” said the Prosecutor when giving an introduction before proceeding to recount chronologically and in detail the details of the case in a press conference held at the headquarters of the Public Ministry this Wednesday.

«I must say that I personally directed this investigation, and that for our team, both for the auxiliary justice bodies, the details of this investigation have an important value. Since Saturday I personally interviewed the material authors of the case, and the investigations will continue, “saab insisted.

voluntary disappearance

The Prosecutor recalled that at the beginning of the investigations, we maintained the thesis that “the strange and enigmatic disappearance of Professor Carlos Lanz was voluntary,” he stressed.

“The so-called ‘Search Committee’, a kind of parallel prosecution, expressed its anger because in the public appearances (the Prosecutor’s Office) insisted on this thesis, that the disappearance was voluntary. There were no elements that determined a violent act. We never ruled out any other thesis, although they said there was even a possible incursion of foreign mercenaries,” Saab explained.

“Lanz, being a former guerrilla, a person with a long career, was not going to go out in the middle of a radical quarantine, in a pandemic, with anyone, it had to be someone he trusted extremely,” he said.

On August 20, his wife, Mary Cumare, reports that she left the house on August 8 at 8 am and that her husband was at home. She said that her daughter realized at 11 in the morning that Lanz was not at her house.

On August 9, the Prosecutor’s Office was notified of his disappearance. “We had 6 prosecutors dedicated to the case, if we add the regional ones, it reaches a dozen prosecutors dedicated to the case and more than 200 proceedings carried out to resolve it,” said Saab.

As of the meeting on April 28, one of the people close to the family, a domestic who worked with them for 20 years, changed residence.

Saab narrated that seven days before the unfortunate event, the domestic leaves the house. “Why are they taking her out of the house if she had been living there for 20 years, in the midst of a pandemic, in times of radical quarantine… they take her out of the house and move from Maracay to Mene Grande, Zulia state,” Saab reports. .

During the interrogations, the maid expressed the hostility between the couple, Cumare-Lanz, and revealed information about Mrs. Cumare’s extramarital partners.

Oliver Medina and Glen Castellano, were the longest-standing lovers of Mrs. Mary Cumare. Castellano never stopped having a romantic relationship with this subject, who also had a criminal record for bank robbery for which he was imprisoned for three years in Puente Ayala and for vehicle theft, he was imprisoned in the Tocorón prison.

Oliver Medina states that at the time of the events he had a sentimental relationship with Cumare, parallel to the one she had with Professor Carlos Lanz y Castellano, a relationship that he recognized and assured that parallel to him, both benefited from the relationship with Cumare.

Finally, Darwin Zambrano, the former partner of Lanz’s stepdaughter, decides to reveal the shady behavior of Cumare’s behavior against Professor Lanz, the verbal and even physical aggression against Professor Lanz.

«Cumare has the psychological profile that suffers from borderline personality disorder, called Boderline disorder, which is located on the border between neurosis and psychosis, he is a highly unstable person in his family relationships, aggressive, narcissistic, impulsive, at point that becomes a sociopath, these types of people with these disorders do not care if they fall prisoner, their morals or that of their family.

The Prosecutor said that Darwin Zambrano affirmed that there could be other lovers, in addition to Medina and Castellanos.

Glen Castellano, rats out Cumare

Prosecutor Tarek William Saab reported that Castellanos betrayed Cumare in his statements on Saturday, July 2.

Castellanos said Cumare had requested Lanz’s murder three months before the event and paid him $8,000. “The corpse must never be found,” Cumare told him.

Castellanos explained that the 8,000 dollars were distributed as follows: 5,000 dollars for a pran from Tocorón – whom the Prosecutor did not want to identify because the investigations are still in process -, and two assassins. Castellano would have $3,000 left as an enabler for these killers. In a video played at the press conference on Castellano’s statement, he says that the bills Cumare handed over were $50 and $100.

Castellano confessed that the motive for the kidnapping was the money resulting from corruption at INCES Maracay.

A network of corruption had been built in the family environment of the revolutionary leader, Cumare, seeing himself betrayed by the circumstances and confronted by Lanz, makes the decision to assassinate.

Viloria was Cumare’s figurehead. Corruption network

Via figureheads, Cumare carried out money laundering. She acquired a house on the beach in Tucacas, Falcón state, two apartments, farms in Cojedes, trucks, cars, among other assets, according to the confession of Tito Viloria and Darwing Zambrano.

“The whole corruption racket allowed Viloria to disproportionately increase his wealth,” Saab said.

The union leader Tito Viloria, was Cumare’s figurehead, finally all these assets belonged to Mayi Cumare, ratified by Castellano and Darwing Zambrano who reveals that Viloria and Zaida Suárez (partner of Tito Viloria) paid high commissions to Mayi Cumare after obtaining contracts for be providers of Inces, where Cumare was director.

The deception of Lanz

The Prosecutor reported that Tito Viloria was the one who took Professor Carlos Lanz out of his house, telling him that they were going to a meeting in Mariara, Aragua state, to meet some militiamen, “because there is a conspiracy against the government,” Viloria told Lanz.

Viloria transports him in a blue Mitsubishi vehicle and behind it was a blue Explorer van, with the assassins.

In two vans, in a van in the rear the criminals, to kidnap Lanz. In another, Professor Lanz was with Viloria.

At the height of Yagua, the explorer truck intercepts the vehicle where Tito Viloria was traveling with Lanz, and they take it to Finca la Fortaleza, in Cojedes.

Glen Castellano, returns to Inces Maracay, to maintain the alibi with Mary Cumare, which could never explain why he carried out a cleaning operation on a Saturday, in full radical quarantine, August 8, 2020 until 6 in the afternoon, cleaning a local.

“She wanted me to give her a book,” Castellano said.

In a colliding house was Lanz. In the presence of Viloria and Castellano, the contracted assassins fired two shots at Professor Carlos Lanz on the same day.

On August 7, Elys Becerra prepares a grave near the pasture of the La Fortaleza farm. “The luminol was positive, there were traces of blood and brain mass,” said prosecutor Saab, according to investigations carried out on the site in recent days.

– «Get ready, let’s go for that one!», they say to Lanz, the assassins on the road.

– «If they are going to kill me, let it be on my feet», Lanz would have said, according to the confession of Castellano, Mary Cumare’s lover.

The body falls into the pit, but the body is transferred between the two assassins and the foreman, they undress the body and put it on a plastic sheet and put it in a pigpen, where there were 9 pigs, where according to Castellanos’ report, to that finally, “with the worst teaching of Colombians” – Prosecutor Saab limits, the remains of Lanz’s corpse would disappear.

The assassins used two machetes and together with the foreman, named Elsi Becerra, mutilated the body, starting with the arms, hands, trunk and feet, and threw it into the pig bin so that the animals ate Lanz’s mortal remains.

The “perfect” alibi

The Prosecutor said that those involved in the case believed that their perfect alibi was the incursion of foreign mercenaries, Israelis, given the political reputation of Professor Lanz, with the intention of taking him to Canada as revenge for his participation in the kidnapping of William Niehous .

Tito Viloria, taking advantage of being a union leader, insisted on this thesis, without presenting a single piece of evidence.

The Prosecutor’s Office never had that alibi with not even 1 percent credibility, but Viloria insisted on it.

Findings at the La Fortaleza farm

It was on the afternoon of Sunday, July 2, when the raid was carried out on the La Fortaleza farm, located in Cojedes near the town of El Baúl, together with a complete team of professionals, including the canine unit.

In the procedure, the following findings were found: Identification of areas where the experts of the criminalistics unit, when passing the luminol, detected traces of blood, in an adjoining grave in the left paddock in a border area with another farm, adjoining Finca la Fortaleza , located in Cojedes, owned by Tito Viloria.

An article of clothing was also located, this discovery occurred yesterday (Tuesday, July 5) Castellanos told us that the day Carlos Lanz disappeared and even when he sees him on the farm, he had a blue plaid shirt.

The Prosecutor described as irresponsible the statements of the so-called Carlos Lanz Defense Committee, more than 200 proceedings without rest, to get to the truth of the case.
