Midfielder Carlos Gruezo is emerging as the replacement for the suspended Moisés Caicedo in the Ecuador team for this Thursday’s eleventh round of qualifying matches with Bolivia in the coastal city of Guayaquil.

The Ecuadorian team trains behind closed doors at the Emelec stadium.

Caicedo was suspended for one match due to the accumulation of two yellow cards.

Argentine coach Sebastián Beccacece must also look for a replacement for right winger Ángelo Preciado, who is in trouble due to an injury.

The coach’s main option is striker Alan Minda.

The last match between Ecuadorians and Bolivians played in Guayaquil corresponded to the Qatar 2022 World Cup qualifiers and was won by the locals 3-0.

Ecuador occupies fifth place in the qualifying rounds with 13 points and Bolivia is seventh with 12 points.
