The Italian coach Carlo Ancelotti made history at the Lusail Stadium in Doha, with the conquest of his first Intercontinental Cup with Real Madrid, to reach fifteen titles, surpass Miguel Muñoz and become the most successful coach in the history of the white club.
In a moment of need for Carlo Ancelotti, due to Real Madrid’s irregularity in a season in which they have lost five games and drawn three, the Italian took the definitive step towards history.
Since the Doha event, it has already marked the ceiling to reach for any future Real Madrid coach. Surpassing the record set in more years by Miguel Muñoz, with two stages full of success, especially the second in which ‘Carletto’ has won everything, this year he can expand his record.
So far it has already won two titles, the European Super Cup and the Intercontinental Cup, of the seven for which it is competing. In two stages with Real Madrid, Carlo has won three Champions Leagues (2014, 2022 and 2024), three European Super Cups (2014, 2022 and 2024), two Leagues (2022 and 2024), two Copas del Rey (2014 and 2023 ), two Club World Cups (2014 and 2022) and one Intercontinental Cup (2024). He has directed 316 games with a balance of 224 wins, 47 draws and 44 losses.
Miguel Muñoz managed 605 games between 1960 and 1974, with a record of 357 wins, 128 tied games and 120 losses. A record that Ancelotti has surpassed in fewer years and almost half as many games.
