Cargo mobilization in Colombia grew 7.6% in September 2025

According to the report, cargo transportation increased in the ninth month with more trips, tons and products mobilized throughout the country.

The Cargo mobilization by road in Colombia reached 13 million tons during September 2025according to the most recent report from the National Registry of Cargo Dispatches (RNDC) of the Ministry of Transportation.

This figure represents a increase of 7.6% compared to the same month of the previous yearwhen just over 12 million tons were moved.

In parallel, liquid cargo transportation exceeded 1.1 billion gallonsregistering an increase of 114.7% compared to July 2024, although the Ministry warned that changes in the form of registration may generate atypical variations in these figures.

During September, 2,261 transport companies made more than one million trips throughout the national territory, using 120,716 vehicles and generating 1,164,570 cargo manifests.

In total, they were counted 1,089,081 routes, 5.1% more than in September of last yearwhich reflects greater dynamism in the logistics sector and an increase in demand for freight transportation on the country’s main routes.

The report states that The most transported solid merchandise in the month was cornwith 667,317 tons; various products, with 546,850 tons; cements, mortars and concreteswith 467,597 tons; and miscellaneous packages, with 444,550 tons.

These products topped the list of the most mobilized, representing a key component in the national supply chain.

Regarding liquid products, the RNDC reported that the inorganic compounds, including distilled wateraccounted for 19.7% of the total transported, followed by palm oil and its refined derivatives (15.6%), ethyl alcohol and spirits (9.5%), and flammable liquids (5.7%).

These data reflect the diversity of liquid cargo transportation and its relevance in industrial and agroenergy sectors.

He Valle del Cauca was ranked as the department with the highest number of solid cargo tripsdriven by movement to and from the port of Buenaventura, the most important in the country.
