The Bar Association of the Dominican Republic (CARD) filed today before the Superior Administrative Court (TSA) an amparo action against the entire Social Security System and the officials responsible for complying with and respecting various provisions of Law 87- 01 of Social Security, especially the one related to the Subsidized Contributory Insurance for lawyers and independent professionals.
Among the institutions subjected are the National Social Security Council, the Social Security Superintendence, the Social Security Treasury and all those that have to do with the violation, with the lack of implementation and validity of the Subsidized Contributory Insurance in favor of of the lawyers.
Miguel Surún Hernández, president of the card, reported that article 7 of Law 87-01 and 119 establishes that ARS must cover 70% of medicines and treatments in pharmacies.
Hernández said that social security is a right enshrined in article 7, literal C, of Law 87-01, which requires the implementation of the Subsidized Contributory Regime, which protects independent professionals and technicians and self-employed workers. with average income equal to or greater than a national minimum wage.
