The Post Office reported on Tuesday (2) that payments for credit and debit card services are temporarily suspended for unavailability of the company’s system system. Posts through the website and post office app are also not available and should be performed exclusively at agencies.
In a statement, the state -owned company says the only form of payment available is by Pix.
“We inform you that, temporarily, payments via credit and debit card are unavailable. You keep counting on PIX, which is still active and working normally in our operations,” the company said.
According to the Post Office, this is because the service provider, which won the bid held in 2021, had its contract suspended by the state on Tuesday. The state -owned company says the administrative process is following the formal rite according to legal deadlines.
The company that provides card payment services is investigated within the scope of Operations triggered Last Thursday (28) to combat organized crime, which identified a huge money laundering scheme in the country.
“The Post Office claim that they are adopting the necessary steps for the normalization of the service within the shortest possible time,” says the state’s statement.
