Residents of Caballito will make a new “caravan” this Wednesday through that neighborhood of Buenos Aires, in rejection of the Linear Park on Honorio Pueyrredón Avenue promoted by the Buenos Aires Governmentafter the ratification of the Justice to the ruling that enabled the resumption of the work after being stopped for eight months.

The activity will start at 6:30 p.m. in the area of ​​the Cid Campeador monument, at the intersection of Honorio Pueyrredón and Gaona, according to the organizers, who specified that it will be possible to participate “by motorcycle, bike, car, rollers or walking” of the route that plans to cover about 20 blocks.

The protest, they indicated, points to the The Buenos Aires government opens a “Work Table” with the community “so that it can be a protagonist in the planning and design of the new green spaces in Caballito”.

The caravan will be the second carried out as part of the campaign to reject the Linear Park on Honorio Pueyrredón, a project that plans to take half of the lanes of the avenue to transform it into a green corridor.

For the neighborhood group, “it is a project without consultation that harms our quality of life” and they pointed out that “almost a year after it began and with concrete evidence of what we say, no one has ever come close to building a proposal that contain our concerns and needs”.

The work remained suspended from February to August by a court order that gave rise to an injunction promoted by neighborhood organizations.

However, the measure was lifted after the presentation by the Buenos Aires Government of new documentation, an instance that was appealed by the neighbors without success, which enabled road works to resume in recent weeks.
