The Caracas Metro System will enable, as of this Friday, a temporary single track (VUT) between the Capitolio-Caño Amarillo stations, on Line 1, due to the high-impact maintenance work that will be carried out between the stations .
Through a statement, the Minister for Transportation, Ramón Velásquez, pointed out that the different tasks are carried out as part of the Maintenance Plan for the Metro.
For this reason, the temporary single track will be enabled between the Agua Salud-Capitolio stations.
In order to facilitate the transfer of users, contingency routes of Metrobús units will be enabled.
The surface transportation contingency routes are: Plaza Sucre-Zona Rental and Agua Salud-La Hoyada.
These routes will be operational from 05:30 in the morning until 11:00 at night.
The work will be carried out until July 1.
In the statement, it was detailed that the restorations will be focused on replacing 345 linear meters of rails, 54 linear meters of slab, replacement of 100 concrete sleepers, sanitation of five ballast points and electrification works in the Line 1 area.
